The Brains Love Play Manifesto

Children are individuals, no matter how young.

We all deserve respect, compassion, and understanding.

I believe in “time in" rather than “time out."

I believe in connection and collaboration rather than correction and compliance.

I believe in modeling behavior; children will do as we do much more than as we say.

I believe in stress responses and protection rather than manipulation and aggression.

I believe in the power of relationships: we heal in the same way as we are often hurt.

I believe all emotions have a purpose.

I believe that all behavior is communication.

I believe we all have the capacity to heal and the wisdom to know how to do so.

I believe that no two brains work the same, and that is a beautiful thing.

Listening Therapies

The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a therapeutic intervention delivered by listening to a total of 5 hours of music designed to regulate the nervous system. This allows you to better connect with yourself, others, and the world around you.The SSP promotes an improved response to stress, better emotional regulation and resilience, and increased social connections and deeper relationships. It is an evidence based treatment proven to help with depression, anxiety, sensory processing differences, chronic pain/illness, IBS, trauma and PTSD, ASD, ADHD, neurodevelopment differences, learning difficulties, among other concerns.

The Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP) is used primarily to promote deep relaxation,  recovery and balance in the body and mind.Through the use of endogenous biological rhythms embedded in music, the RRP provides a healing signal to the Autonomic Nervous System to gently move into relaxation. Through listening to music, the RRP gradually exposes the listener to increasingly complex acoustic parameters that are designed as a neural exercise, promoting flexibility. Some of the benefits describes by listeners are: deeper sleep and relaxation, reduced heart rate, decreased anxiety, reduced pain, relaxed muscle tone, emotional openness and greater access to past emotions, and improved response to stress.  It is helpful with conditions such as trauma, depression and anxiety, gut and gastrointestinal issues,  sleep, chronic pain and fatigue, chronic health issues, functional disorders, and more.

“After 30 mins. of listening, I have felt more empowered and safe to express my feelings and opinions, advocate, and stand up for myself in situations I would never speak up before."
"After completing the SSP program, I feel more in control of my emotions, less hyper vigilant, my misophonia is better, and I think my digestion is better!"
“I have been able to look back on things from my past and hold others, and myself, with more compassion. My anger has decreased, and I finally feel free from my past.”
